WHAT IS KINTSUGI ?
“Kintsugi” is unique to the Japanese culture; it is a method of repairing cracked or broken pottery.

For a long time, the Japanese have had an appreciation for reusing and repairing items that hold a memory to us.
The Kintsugi method takes a lot of time and effort so people in this modern age may not see the benefit, however this is also an art form that breathes new life into broken pottery that holds history. 
Sustainable it is based on recycling and upcycling.

WHAT RAW MATERIALS ARE USED ?

The principal materials used are Urushi, a Japanese traditional lacquer, and gold and only natural materials used.

金継ぎは、割れたりかけたりした陶磁器を修復する日本独自の文化です。その技法は、割れた器を修復することのみならず、装飾を施し、大切な思い出をも繕い、繋げていこうとする日本人の繊細な美意識と心から生まれました。

金継ぎは、手間ひまがかかるため、現代人には身近なものではないかもしれませんが、壊れた器に、そして、思い出に新たな命を吹き込む芸術でもあります。
